INDRAKO VISIT PARISMA.

Namaste mero saathi haru ; I was in Paris in last december 2009  and i visited Louvre and Orsay museums . This is a report especially for you, so ... just enjoy !!

Beside La joconda with my friend Johannes who was also my guide. This  is a  famous painting by Italian painter Leonard da Vinci painted circa 1505.  It is a portrait of Mona lisa the wife of sir Jocondo.

Opposite a model of Louvre castle when it was rebuilt by French king Charles V cerca 1400 ad.

Now Le Louvre in mostly 19 cent building. From the way we got  dressed you can imagine the weather in Paris in december ; Breeeeeee !

This is the child Jesus and His mother, the Virgen. It is a clay work by italian sculptor Donatello from Fireza 15 cent ad.

Oppsite a majour work by Michelangelo Buenarroti . It's a marble sculpture designated to the tumb of Jules 2 Pope. It features a revolting slave. It was not finished and it seems that the work is still getting out of rough marble.

Again the  the works by Michelangelo. Beside the revolting slave, the dying slave , also dedicated to the tumb of Jules 2 and also unfinished.

The big room where you can find la Joconda.

La joconda. It is protected by a bullet proof window. It was stolen twice and recovered twice  at the begining of 20 cent. May be this is why it got so famous !

Opposite a very big painting by italian painter Veronese (1528 1588). It features a story you can read  in the Bible. Jesus was invited to a wedding party and people turned short in wine. So Jesus turned water in wine. The party took place in Cana village so it is called the wedding in Cana. The painting is 75 square meters !

Again wedding in Cana. Jesus is right in the middle in red and blue. His mother is on His right. The white dressed musician is tought to be a self portrait of the painter. Note the dogs and the beautifull colors !

In the Grande galerie , the big gallery . it was dedicted to link the Louvre Palace to les Tuileries, another palace  destroyed by fire in late 19 cent.  This gallery  was built in early 19 cent. In daytime it benefits from a natural lighting.

The beautifull Feroniere, another major work by Leonard.

I like this work very much , It is a portrait made just of flowers featuring Spring, The italian painter Arcimboldo (1527 1593) also painted portraits using only fruits for Automn and Summer and using sad stuffs for Winter. Very funny !

Under a magnificient 19 cent . celling of a big room called the salon meaning  the sitting room. In this room took place exhibitions of painting , Since then French people use the word  Salon for an exhibition.

Opposite the Venus of Milo.  Venus is the Greek godess of Love. This venus was discoverd in 1820 in the Greek island of Milo. It dates from 200bc.

In the private appartments of the Fench emperor Napoleon the third.  He used to live in the Louvre palace cerca  1855.

And this is just the private  dining room of this Napoleon the third !

Really amaizing. Next day we visited Orsay museum a former train station now dedicated to 19 century French art. Really good but I do prefer le Louvre ! You need a full life to explore the biggest museum of the world.  Big job !

Yours truly, Indra december 2009.
